Replacing the headlight bulb on a 2014 GMC Sierra is an easy task that falls in the DIY category.

The driver side is much easier to replace compared to the passenger side which needs the air box removed.

Tools and Parts Needed

  • New 9012 Headlight Bulb
  • Screw driver

No tools are needed when replacing the headlight bulb on the driver side.

A Screw driver is needed to remove the air box on the passenger side.

The 2014 GMC Sierra uses a 9012 headlight bulb for both the low-beam and high-beam.

Replacement bulbs can be bought online or a local auto parts store.

Always verify your car year, make, and model when buying any car parts to be sure it matches.

Also, verify the old bulb when it is removed from the car with the new bulb.

When replacing any headlight bulb be sure not to touch the bulb itself with your fingers, as oil from your hands can create a hot spot that shortens the life of the bulb.

  6. Remove bulb turning counter clockwise.
  7. Insert new bulb turning clockwise.
  8. Reattach electrical plug.
