Subaru 3.6L Boxer-6 (EZ36) Engine Firing Order, Cylinder Location, Bank-1 Bank-2

The Subaru 3.6L boxer-6 is the EZ36 (also called EZ36D / EZ36R). It is a popular flat-six and it was used from 2008 up to 2019.

The coil and injector numbering is the same as the cylinder numbering. Coil 1 and injector 1 are both cylinder 1.

Firing Order: 1-6-3-2-5-4

Bank-1 is the cylinder 1 side of the engine. Bank-2 is the other side.

Cylinder 1 is at the front of the engine on the passenger side. From the front toward the firewall, passenger side is 1-3-5 and driver side is 2-4-6.

To find bank one on any engine, locate cylinder number one. That side is bank one. The other side is bank two.
